PADI Instructor Development Course

The PADI IDC/OWSI was designed to provide Instructor training to PADI Dive master and PADI Assistant Instructor. The emphasis of this Course is on development, not testing. This produces a low stress environment that makes learning easier and fun. Diving Instructors from other organizations may also enroll onto a similar program called the OWSI , to become a PADI Instructor.

When Instructor candidates have successfully completed an IDC/OWSI, they proceed onto an Instructor Examination (IE). The PADI IE is a standardized, objective evaluation conducted by Instructor Examiners from PADI International or local area offices.

This two-phase program, IDC/OWSI and IE, makes the PADI Instructor Development process the most comprehensive and demanding on any in the dive industry. It ensures that PADI Instructors meet the highest standards for learning and performance of any recreational diver certification organization.

IDC Preparation Course

This program prepares the IDC/OWSI candidate to successfully complete the IDC and consequently the IE. One of the exams during the IE is the theory exam and the IDC/OWSI does not cover theory development, this program does. This program will tune up the candidate's knowledge and skills to the level required to pass the IE. Any language and translation problems will also be discussed. A common reason why people cannot concentrate during the IDC/OWSI is because they are worried about their knowledge of diving theory. By taking this program you will be comfortable about your theory knowledge and better able to absorb the information and training delivered during the IDC/OWSI, pass the IE and be a better Instructor.

IE Preparation Course

This is a special program,it increases the candidate's confidence. We do understand that your stress level is your main enemy in passing the IE. On this program each candidate works together with the Course Director and the IDC staff to strengthen any weak area(s) they may have had during the IDC/OWSI. This is a personalized program, and the sole objective is to make each candidate fully confident about attending and passing the IE.

PADI Specialty Instructor Courses

PADI offers many kind of specialty programs. As a PADI Instructor you have the opportunity to gain while at the same time doing the diving activities that interest you most. There is better thing than doing something that you enjoy and receiving credentials for it.

By completing 5 specialty courses you meet the pre-requisite for the PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer level.

IDC Staff Instructor Course

The IDC Staff Instructor course is a step towards the PADI Master Instructor rating and a pre-requisite for the Course Director rating. A PADI Staff Instructor is an experienced instructor with the necessary skills and knowledge to assist a Course Director during all phases of an IDC program. During this course the IDC staff candidate is tested in the same areas as the Instructor candidates but higher passing grades are required. The candidate is taught the procedure for grading IDC candidates, consultation techniques, how to teach the Assistant Instructor course and audit the whole IDC program.

Only a PADI Staff Instructor can teach and certify PADI Assistant Instructors. This course will also upgrade your PADI standard knowledge and give you a fresh outlook in conducting all levels of PADI diver education.

PREREQUISITES IDC ( 9 days program)

1. Be at least 18 years old
2. Be a PADI Dive master or PADI Assistant Instructor, instructors from other organizations may also eligible, please contact the Course Director for clarification.
3. Have been a certified diver for at least 6 months and submit proof of at least 60 logged dives. 12 months as a diver and at least 100 logged dives to take the IE (Instructor Examination).
4. Be in good physical condition for diving and submit an approved medical form for a diving medical examination (signed by a physician) conducted within the last 12 months.
5. Show proof of CPR and First Aid training within the last 24 months.
6. Must complete the independent study module before the starting date of the IDC.
