SSI Instructor Training Course

The SSI ITC / OWSI was designed to provide SSI Instructor training to

• PADI Divemasters
• SSI Divemasters
• SSI Assistant Instructor
• SSI Dive Controller

The emphasis of this SSI Instructor Course is on development, not testing. This produces a low stress environment that makes learning easier and fun. Diving Instructors from other organizations may also enroll onto a similar program called the OWSI , to become a SSI Instructor.

When SSI Instructor candidates have successfully completed an SSI ITC / OWSI, they proceed onto an SSI Instructor Examination (IE). The SSI IE is a standardized, objective evaluation conducted by SSI Instructor Certifiers from SSI or local SSI area office

This two-phase program, SSI ITC / OWSI and SSI IE, makes the SSI Instructor Development process the most comprehensive and demanding on any in the dive industry. It ensures that SSI Instructors meet the highest standards for learning and performance of any recreational diver certification organization.

SSI ITC Preparation Course

This program prepares the IDC / OWSI candidate to successfully complete the IDC and consequently the IE. One of the exams during the IE is the theory exam and the IDC / OWSI does not cover theory development, this program does. This program will tune up the candidate's knowledge and skills to the level required to pass the IE. Any language and translation problems will also be discussed. A common reason why people cannot concentrate during the IDC / OWSI is because they are worried about their knowledge of diving theory. By taking this program you will be comfortable about your theory knowledge and better able to absorb the information and training delivered during the IDC/OWSI, pass the IE and be a better Instructor.

IE Preparation Course

This is a special program, it increases the SSI candidate's confidence. We do understand that your stress level is your main enemy in passing the IE. On this program each candidate works together with the Instructor Certifier and the ITC staff to strengthen any weak area(s) they may have had during the IDC / OWSI. This is a personalized program, and the sole objective is to make each candidate fully confident about attending and passing the SSI IE.

SSI offers a wide selection of specialty programs. As a SSI Instructor you have the opportunity to gain konwledge and at the same time doing the diving activities that interest you most. There is nothing better than doing something that you enjoy and receiving credentials for it.

By completing 5 SSI Specialty Courses you meet the pre-requisite for the SSI Speciality Instructor

SSI Dive Controller Instructor Course

The SSI Dive Controller Speciality Instructor (DCSI) course is a step towards the SSI Instructor Certifier rating . A SSI Dive Controller Instructor is an experienced SSI instructor with the necessary skills and knowledge to assist a SSI Instructor Certifier during all phases of an SSI ITC program. During this course the DCSI staff candidate is tested in the same areas as the SSI Instructor candidates but higher passing grades are required. The candidate is taught the procedure for grading SSI ITC candidates, consultation techniques, how to teach the Dive Controller course and audit the whole ITC program.
