PADI Enriched Air Diver (NITROX) Specialty
The Enriched Air Diver course is the most popular specialty scuba diving course, and it’s easy to see why. Scuba diving with enriched air (Nitrox) gives you:
- Enriched air nitrox increases your allowable no stop dive time by reducing the amount of nitrogen you breathe underwater. It does this by replacing some of the nitrogen with oxygen. Since you breathe less nitrogen, you have longer no decompression limits.
- The increased no stop time can be substantial, especially when making repetitive dives.
- Your enriched air dive computer combines the advantages of enriched air diving with multilevel diving, giving you the maximum no stop time possible. It also simplifies planning and executing the dive.
Over the last decade, hundreds of thousands of dives have illustrated that enriched air
has an impressive safety record when divers follow proper procedures.
This is primarily a dry classroom based course but can be combined with other courses, contact us for more information.
The requirements for starting the PADI Nitrox course is to be at least 15 years old, be a PADI Open Water Diver and to answer NO on the PADI Medical Questionnaire
Ok, so you made it onto your course, now we just have some paperwork to complete before we get stuck into your course materials.
Together we will work through the course materials for the selected Adventure dives you have chosen and complete your knowledge reviews.
Before lunch we start off with the videos and and introduction to Nitrox (Enriched Air) checking the knowledge reviews
After lunch we will do some quizzes and exams, as well as hands on with tank filling and analyzing the tanks you have field to confirm, then documenting this information, preparing you to be able to use nitrox on your dives.
